Lets go camping!!!

Last year we missed out on a lot of camping and family togetherness due to the move... So Johnny and me wanted to try as hard as we could to make sure we didn't miss out this year... But along came baby Andrea right before our week long primitive rendezvous... So what is a mama to due... I had a week year old and a family itching to go camping....
So we went camping....
The Rocky Mountain National Rendezvous was fairly close this year so we thought we would try to make a family vacation out of it... We left Friday after noon... Andrea was a week old! It was over cast and slightly rainy when we left... Witch was a good thing sense our trucks AC doesn't work that great (I say it doesn't work at all!!!) The drive was about 2 and half hours... Andrea slept for almost all of it... Just before we got to rendezvous Andrea got over heated and I had to cool her off with a little fan and convince her to eat to get more fluid in her.... Once she cooled off and nursed we were on our way... Sammy had a new job of keeping the little fan on Andrea and she loved it... She felt like she was the biggest helper...
We arived at rendezvous and got our tent set up just before the rain hit.. (K Johnny and my dad set up the tent... Part of the deal/plan of the trip was I was not to over do it so I did not lift anything heavier than Andrea) Most people hate the rain while camping (sometimes I do too) but this time it was so wonderfull it cooled down the night air and gave such a fresh clean smell to the air... Plus the area needed rain so badly (there was a fire ban in the area)... We fell asleep that night listening to the rain against the tent... Andrea only woke up once or twice (I can't remember) that night... She ate and went right back to sleep... What a perfect baby!
As soon as the sun came up and the sun shone threw the white canvas, Ally jumps out of bed and says "Hey everyone its wake up time! LOOK LOOK its not night night time anymore lets get up!!!" So we all got up and started our day bright and early! Andrea usually slept until after I got the big girls feed and dressed and cute for the day... Like I said she is a perfect baby!
The first day Andrea stayed in her pajamas and wrapped in a wool blanket... It was raining again... The big girls were really great at playing under the fly and staying dry.. I have been trying to work with the girls about the level of there voices (my house gets REALLY LOUD!) and to my relief they were trying really hard to keep there voices at a reasonable level (of course they are kids and we had some screaming matches between the two girls but compared to what we usually have at home they were Awesome!)
Sammy found a way to make some money while at rendezvous... She sold "mouse trappers"! My mom called me before we left and asked me to bring up some mouse traps because there where mice trying to get into there food... So we packed all our food in Rubbermaid totes and picked up a bunch of cheep mouse traps... Sammy sold them for a dollar...I didn't think people would buy them but they did and were coming to her and asking if they could buy them... And then every time she saw someone that bought a "mouse trapper" she would ask how many mice they caught... The record was five in one night!!! (that was with only two traps!) The silly mice would come in the tent while I was awake and feeding Andrea, we would hear a snap and then two minutes latter the second one who snap... So I wake Johnny up to go change the traps... Hey If I know those traps are full heck yeah I'm going to want them cleaned out...And then before we even get Andrea settled down and back to sleep they would go off again... SNAP SNAP... Sammy had a blast selling  the traps and we let her go shopping on traders row to spend her money she bought a bumpy sucker (a rock candy sucker) and a set of double six's dominoes to have in her rendezvous toy box... And still had three dollars left over =)
There was five days for Kids Games... They spent two hours playing new games and making crafts and of course playing in the river each of those days... Ally surprised the lady's at the kids games... They could not believe how tough this cute little blonde is... She helped pull a grown man on a saddle threw the dirt (she was dragged along in the dirt hanging on to the rope with all her might... Once she fell off she stood up put her hands on her hips and called out "Hey guys stop!" and once every one stopped she grabbed back a hold of the rope and went for it again...) She fell off the rope three times before a tear fell... And she played red rover with the big kids (8-10 year olds) and loved it!!! Sammy liked playing in the river the best!!!
